This trail-building kickoff will provide a unique opportunity for our community to get hands-on experience with the continued transformation of Lewis Park into a healthy, urban forest of Seattle.
We look forward to the construction of walking trails which will provide safe access to the Lewis Park, create community spaces, and provide ways for the community to care for and enjoy the Park.
NEPO 5K don't Run 2014 - 9/6/14
Don't miss the NEPO 5k Don't Run 2014 on Saturday, September 6th!
"Each year local artists install and perform over 50 projects along the ordinary city streets, in garages, pagodas, in a grass meadow along a bike path, below a bridge and under a freeway underpass. The range of projects spans many artistic disciplines: visual art and sculptural installations, interactive artworks, poetry readings, video projections, sound installations, music and theatrical performances. Every aspect of this walk is a creative happening - a visual and symbolic experiment in creating a more enjoyable world through active participation."
The walk begins at 1pm in Hing Hay Park and leads to music and food at NEPO House throughout the evening! Porta-potties and water will be provided by Friends of Lewis Park. Check out the NEPO website for more details. Hope to see you there!
